Women’s Rights
My Commitment to Protecting Women’s Rights
The fight for women’s rights is far from over—and right now, we are moving backward. I believe it is the role of government not to stand in the way of women’s freedom, but to ensure they have the resources and protections they need to live healthy, safe, and dignified lives.
Reproductive Freedom
We must codify Roe v. Wade into federal law to guarantee reproductive rights nationwide.
States that criminalize women for seeking medical care across state lines, or deny life-saving abortions that result in preventable deaths, must face real consequences.
Republicans claim to be “pro-life,” but their policies reveal the truth—they are the party of forced childbirth. They abandon women the moment a child is born.
We must pass the EACH Act to ensure abortion care is covered by all forms of health insurance, including Medicaid, without discrimination.
Healthcare Access for Women
Women must have access to routine prenatal care, cancer screenings, and preventive health services.
I will fight to pass the SCREENS for Cancer Act, which reauthorizes and expands the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.
I will support H.R.2477, allowing Medicare funds to cover mobile ultrasound screenings—bringing critical care directly to communities.
Protecting Women from Violence
We must restore the $200 million Trump cut from the Office on Violence Against Women—and then increase that funding by another $200 million.
Survivors of domestic and sexual violence deserve access to shelters, medical care, advocacy, financial assistance, and long-term support.
The Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) must be fully funded. To do this, the DOJ must increase penalties and prosecutions for white-collar crimes, since their fines replenish the Crime Victims Fund that supports survivors.
Civil Rights & Equality
Women must never face discrimination for being women. That means enforcing laws like the FACE Act, which protects access to reproductive healthcare facilities. Republicans have undermined this law by refusing to enforce it and pardoning those convicted of violating it—we must change that.
We must also resist efforts to redefine “sex” in ways that erase protections for women and transgender women, especially in education, healthcare, and federally funded programs.
Women’s rights extend beyond healthcare. They include workplace protections, equal pay, universal childcare, and freedom from discrimination. At every stage of life, women should have the same opportunity to thrive that men do.
In short: we are not doing enough. My mission is simple—to ensure that women have the freedom, care, and support they need to live full, safe, and independent lives. That is the role of government. And that is why I am running: to make life easier, not harder, for women and their families.
